My unheimlich collages are clearly works of the imagination, of embellished memory. Featuring groaning glaciers, lowering Alps, moraine, crevasses and even an intrepid 18th century mountaineer, these motifs furnish the fantasy wilderness I am inextricably drawn to, like the grand tourists seeking the thrill of the sublime in landscape. These impossible alpine/arctic landscapes are ones I have spent scant time in, but they dominate my imagination and memory. Taken from the Brockhaus Lexikon of Rhonegletscher, these images have been copied and manipulated to create new realms.
